You all know how much I love the Klove radio station!! Last month Klove was conducting a "month of selfless living" by encouraging all their listeners to live a month without complaining about ANYTHING and by ALWAYS putting others first instead of ourselves. Many people think they do this, but very very few actually do. A few months ago (maybe more) our church service was about "selfless living". I've always tried to think of others first, but when I really begin to "purposefully" make sure I always put others first I realized that it takes constant dedication to make sure I don't put my own needs first. I've begin to notice a real sense of joy in myself as I've consistantly put others before myself. I'm so much more aware of what is meant by joy verses happiness. I've always read about how we aren't suppose to focus on feeling "happy" on earth, but instead to feel "joyful", but although I thought I did, I never really understood the difference until now. The feeling of joy is "deeper, calmer, more stable and constant" then the fleeting up and down feeling of happiness. Happiness seems to depend alot on the external part of me such as how others make me feel, etc. But joy, seems to come from me... Inside... No matter what is going on externally, if I'm focused on God and I'm really thankful for everything God brings to my life, then I can feel joy anytime, all the time. So while the feeling of complete happiness is terrific at times, I'm learning to really strive for a complete sense of "joy".
I wish you all joy! And a very blessed and safe holiday weekend!
Love,
Nic

Denise and Nic... And no, we didn't plan our attire! :) But, it happens with us alot!
Jake watching Tay open her cool raft/water gun toys... Here we come pool!! :)
Tay picked out a mini teddy bear cake for herself. Yummy!
Alex helping Tay learn to ride the RipStick... It's not as easy as it looks! Notice Tay's new hightops?! I'm embarrassed to say how many new pairs of shoes she received for her birthday! Of course, she loves them all. :)
Tay's awesome braid! Thanks, Aunt Denise!
A picture of true happiness! Tay said "I wish my birthday would never end"!
Paul and the kids entering World's of Fun!
The kids and I.
Tay took this pic of Paul and Duke... Great pic Tay!
Tay and I getting ready to leave for church.
Tay wanted to pose with her 5 year pic...Wow! I can't believe our baby is 8!! The years have just flown by... I am so very proud of the sweet, caring, spunky, athletic, beautiful little lady that Tay is turning into! We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect daughter. Today was Tay's day so it was action packed!!
We started off by letting her pick whether we went to the early or late church service. Luckily, she picked late and she even let Paul and I sleep in. Breakfast was her choice of course, as that was the theme for the day, and she chose Cracker Barrel. I think she would have picked IHOP, but that was her brothers suggestion... Ha!
Then off to church we went... What an incredible wonderful fantastic Patriotic church service! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful church like PVBC to attend every week! Honestly, I'd go every day if they had it! :)
Without wasting a moment we were on our way home to change and grab some lunch... It was time for World's of Fun!! Lot's of roller coasters and tons of fun! Okay, I admit I didn't go on them all! Congrats to Paul for attempting all of the rides with Jake and Tay. I used to be able to ride every ride over and over again, but not anymore. Tay's favorite ride is my old favorite ride the Barrel Ride. It has a different name, but the Barrel Ride has always been my logical name for it since it looks just like a spinning barrel! :)
Stopping only at Price Chopper so we could grab some goodies and Tay's mini birthday cake and cookie cake we headed for home. At home the kids changed into their swimsuits and went their separate ways. Paul took Jake to his friends birthday pool party while I took Tay to her friends birthday pool party. They both had a blast!!
Finishing up the evening with Tay's 8:00pm family birthday party!! Wow, did she ever get lots of gifts!! And the best part of the night was spending time with such wonderful family members!! Due to our busy schedule we ended up deciding 8 wouldn't be such a bad time after all since there isn't much going on at 8pm on a Sunday evening. Thanks Denise for braiding Tay's hair... She was admiring it before she went to bed. As always it was great spending time with you! You are such a terrific friend and sis! I know I could count on you for ANYTHING! And Mark, the only thing that would have made Tay's bday party better would have been for your awesome band to have played for a third night... at our house. :) Alex, you are the best! Thanks for taking Tay around and around the culdesac on her RipStick in your flip flops! I hope your toes are okay. :) Ruth and Larry, Tay is loving the RipStick. I'm still laughing over your "I hope I don't end up regretting this."... as Tay is falling all over the RipStick. She will also LOVE her back to school trip with her gift card to Justice. Dad, I'm sure you were so worn out from your weekend, but of course you were all smiles to be at Tay's bday party. We are so happy to have you back home. And mom, thanks for taking pics at Tay's party. I can't wait to see them! And of course, you saved the day AGAIN by helping with the gifts. Once again, thank you all so much for coming to Tay's party! It meant so much to her!! Tay is truly a blessed little girl!!
Also, this is a week of "lasts" for the Anderson kids so in case anyone wants to attend anything... (Of course, no pressure at all! I know how busy life is!)
*Wednesday night at 7:30pm at Fountain Bluff is Tay's last softball game. (I will be at Jake's, but someone will be holding Tay's "Cream that Ball" sign that her cousin Alex made for her.) Alex, Tay has showed your sign to everyone! And she even cut out paper and wrote her cousin Jackson's name and number on it and taped it over her name and number and took it to his game. It was so sweet of her! She was so proud of it! Unfortunately, her papers started blowing off, but her heart was definitely in the right place. :)
*Wednesday night at 6pm and 8pm at Platte Purchase are Jake's last baseball games. (Except for the World Series in Omaha!)
*Thursday night at 6pm at Clayview is Jake and Tay's last swim meet. Jake has qualified in breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle for conference! And Tay has qualified in backstroke for conference! Between the two of them they have all the strokes covered. :) Tay is only 2 seconds away from qualifying for freestyle so we are hopeful. We are so proud of them both! They love love love the water!
We are looking forward to a fun filled summer week! Of course, full of family and friends!

Praises and Prayers
I will start with my many praises...
*that jake and tay haven't actually fought all week until just now... Luckily we're only 20 minutes from home. :)
*for the 2 great books I picked up at the Christian book store this week. I love Beth Moore! This book is called "Get out of the Pit"... Very good! I haven't finish "Love and Respect" yet, but it's great! It talks about how much wives need love and husbands need respect. Very good! I highly recommend it.
okay, enough texting in the car... (Paul is driving!)... I'll have to finish tomorrow... Nite!
Prayers for sweet little Marley Moore... Please give the doctors the wisdom to find a way to cure her little body of all cancer. Give her parents the faith to stay strong and positive. May they all feel Gods loving arms around them.
Prayers for uncle Marion... Give answers to the doctors and peace and comfort to Marion and family.
And papa Lowell... That he continue to get stronger and stronger.
And granny... And grandma Jean

Has it really been almost 3 months!?
Wow, time has really gotten away from me. I must say that I just had another awesome wonderful blessed week with my family. A fun relaxing week filled with family and friends. We were so happy that mom and dad were able to spend a couple days!! Mom, it's definitely fun to have you in the kitchen with me! I'd say we made some pretty yummy meals. :) I just can't be thankful enough for having you two for parents. Thanks for making life relaxing, easy and fun whenever you both are around.
And, a whole week with the Parker family. Wow, the twins have grown! They are just beautiful... Inside and out. I think Tay carried one of them around all weekend! Thanks Jen, for making Tay feel "so big and important". Jen, I just love chatting with you. You are so "real" so "good"... Thanks for being YOU!
Are you ready for the ending to our fun spring break vacation?! Due to packing our very full Escalade and last minute cleaning of the condo... And then driving 20 miles an hour in an ice storm... We had to leave our dogs in their kennels in the car for a long time. Let's just say that Bailey did great! We weren't even half way home when Duke couldn't wait... Yuck! He didn't even bark or anything to let us know as we would have been thrilled to stop and let him out to use the "restroom". Wow, did we pay for that one! Praises for the kids as they tolerated the entire episode like pros! I told Tay she now had lots of weekend news to write about on Monday. :) Ha!

Happy New Year everyone! Wow, I'm behind on 2009! I promise to catch up to 2010 this week! The Anderson family is off to a very happy and blessed 2010!
